Margaritaville at Sea Names Godfather of Beachcomber

Margaritaville at Sea announced today that it has chosen a godparent for its upcoming ship Beachcomber. The honor will go to its musical partner and multi-platinum artist Zac Brown, who will christen the ship and perform onboard as part of the inaugural celebration this coming January.

Brown’s honorary role as godfather builds on a relationship that continues to grow both on land and at sea. He collaborated with Margaritaville at Sea to create Beachcomber‘s Same Boat live music venue, while Margaritaville at Sea is the presenting sponsor of Zac Brown Band’s current Love & Fear U.S. tour. Brown will also headline an exclusive concert in Nassau on January 28, when Beachcomber, Islander, and Paradise will come together for the first Margaritaville at Sea fleet meetup.

“It’s been so much fun working with the Margaritaville at Sea family to bring Same Boat on Beachcomber to life,” said Brown. “I’m really proud of what we’ve created together, and being named Godfather of Beachcomber is a true honor.”

Zac Brown’s connection to Beachcomber will come to life at Same Boat, where he has collaborated on everything from design and artwork to the music programming. The venue will feature a rotating roster of artists throughout the ship’s inaugural season. The name of the space, of course, is inspired by the band’s hit song “Same Boat,” which featured Jimmy Buffett on the deluxe edition of Zac Brown Band’s The Comeback.

Beachcomber will launch from PortMiami in January, spending its inaugural season operating four to eight-night itineraries to the eastern and southern Caribbean. In October 2027, the ship will reposition to Galveston, Texas to operate voyages to the western Caribbean.
