MSC World Atlantic Floated Out at the Shipyard in France

MSC Cruises’ fourth World-class vessel, MSC World Atlantic, has reached a major milestone in the construction process! The mega ship has been floated out at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, marking the first time it has touched water.

The float out marks an important stage in the ship’s journey towards completion, where the newly-built vessel is moved from the dry construction dock into the water. Now, she will undergo the next phase of completion, which will consist of mostly interior build-out and finishing touches.

MSC World Atlantic will be the 25th ship in the MSC Cruises fleet, and is scheduled to debut in November 2027. It will be the fourth in MSC’s World-class, following MSC World Europa (which debuted in 2022), MSC World America (which debuted in 2025), and MSC World Asia, which is scheduled to begin sailings this November.

MSC World Europa sails in the Mediterranean, as will MSC World Asia upon her debut. MSC World America operates Caribbean voyages out of Miami, Florida. MSC World Atlantic will also operate Caribbean voyages from the U.S., sailing roundtrip from Port Canaveral in central Florida.

Designed to blend MSC Cruises’ signature European style with American comfort, World Atlantic will operate seven and 14-night eastern and western Caribbean cruises to destinations including Costa Maya, Cozumel, Grand Turk, Puerto Plata, and ports in the Bahamas including MSC’s private island, Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve.

On board, public areas will be split into seven distinct districts, each offering its own atmosphere, facilities, and entertainment. These include:

The Aqua Deck with seven pools, 13 hot tubs, a water park, and the new Coral Cove indoor pool space
The open-air World Promenade that’s part-seafront stroll, part-social scene
The World Galleria located at the heart of the ship, featuring shops, food, and entertainment venues
Family Aventura with bumper cars, the all-new Clubhouse, and the Cliffhanger overwater swing ride
The Terraces, which offers up sips, flavors, and music including live performances at Viva La Musica
The Zen Area, an adults-only retreat with sweeping ocean views and serene pools
The MSC Yacht Club, a keychard-access luxury enclave complete with its own restaurant, lounge, and pool deck; 24-hour butler service; and elevated amenities
