MSC Cruises Begins 6-Month Countdown to World Asia Debut
MSC Cruises has officially begun the six-month countdown for the first sailing of its upcoming flagship, MSC World Asia.
The vessel is set to be named during a ceremony in Le Havre, France on November 28, 2026. Following the event, the ship will begin her inaugural Mediterranean season out of Barcelona on December 4, offering seven-night cruises to ports including Marseille, Messina, Civitavecchia (the port for Rome), Naples, and Valletta. Embarkation will be available at every port.
Celebrating the beauty of the world’s continents and oceans but paying special homage to Asia’s culture and landscapes, MSC World Asia will feature both familiar and new amenities for passengers to enjoy. These include:
The Cliffhanger
For the first time in Europe, passengers will be able to experience the Cliffhanger over-water swing ride. Towering 164 feet above the open sea, the attraction first debuted aboard the U.S.-based MSC World America. The motorized swing ride propels travelers back and forth, allowing for both a fun thrill along with panoramic ocean views. The Cliffhanger is located in the redesigned Harbour district, which features a new Asian-inspired design.
The Spiral @ Tree of Life
Set to be the longest dry slide at sea at 266 feet, The Spiral @ Tree of Life will bring passengers whizzing down 11 decks in mere seconds. Inspired by the iconic trees of Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay, the slide serves as both an architectural design piece and a thrilling attraction.

The Clubhouse
A vibrant, retro-inspired space for families, The Clubhouse will offer a variety of activities including bumper cars, basketball, roller skating, and table games. It will also be home to the LEGO Family Zone, where kids and their families can play with LEGO bricks to their heart’s content.
The Twin Race & U Drop Waterslides
Looking for a friendly competition with a friend or family member? Head up to the Twin Racer waterslides for side-by-side racing. For more thrill, take on the U Drop slide high above the deck in the ship’s Family Aventura district.
Adventure Trail High Ropes Course
The Adventure Trail ropes course invites travelers to test their balance and bravery across a two-level course suspended above the deck. Spanning 6,210 square feet, the ropes course features various elements including Sky Rails that are similar to a zip line.

MSC Formula Racer
Located in the Hall of Games lies the MSC Formula Racer, an immersive racing simulator. The two-seat attraction allows passengers to virtually “drive” a high-speed Formula 1 car, reflecting MSC’s continued partnership with Formula 1.
Beyond the Attractions
Beyond its many attractions and fun zones, MSC World Asia will feature over 40 bars, lounges, and restaurants; seven pools; 13 hot tubs; and the line’s largest MSC Yacht Club suite categories to date.
