Carnival’s Celebration Key Can Now Accommodate Four Ships

Carnival Corporation’s Bahamian destination Celebration Key can now accommodate double the amount of ships it could before. The company announced on Monday that its pier extension project has been completed ahead of schedule, adding two additional berths to the private paradise for a total of four.

Building on the original two-berth pier that opened when Celebration Key did in July 2025, the extension was delivered early and doubles the destination’s arrival capacity. The project adds operational flexibility and unlocks roughly 200 more ship calls and 700,000 passenger arrivals each year. The expansion also means that Celebration Key will be able to welcome over 13,000 visitors per day.

Twenty Carnival Cruise Line ships now visit the Grand Bahama Island destination, operating voyages from 10 U.S. homeports. Starting this September, three and four-ship days will be routine. Also later this year, sister lines Princess Cruises and AIDA Cruises will join Carnival Cruise Line in calling to Celebration Key.

When Celebration Key marks its first anniversary on July 19, 2026, it will have welcomed around 2.5 million passengers. With the pier extension finished, year two is expected to bring that number to about 3.5 million.

According to an economic impact study by Tourism Economics, the development, construction, and ongoing operation of Celebration Key is projected to create over 2,500 direct Bahamian jobs, generate $3.2 billion in incremental government revenue, and contribute $9.7 billion in incremental GDP impact over the next two decades.

“The expansion of Celebration Key’s pier is a powerful endorsement of Grand Bahama’s economic potential,” said the Hon. Ginger Moxey MP., Minister for Grand Bahama. “Every ship that calls on our island creates opportunities for Bahamians—from entrepreneurs and small businesses to countless families who depend on a thriving tourism sector. This investment represents more than new infrastructure; it is an investment in our people, our economy, and a future built on sustainable, year-round growth.”

Celebration Key is one of seven exclusive Caribbean destinations in Carnival Corporation’s portfolio. The others are RelaxAway Half Moon Cay (Bahamas), Isla Tropicale (Roatán), Amber Cove (Dominican Republic), Puerto Maya (Cozumel), Grand Turks Cruise Center (Grand Turk), and Princess Cays (Bahamas).
