Holland America Provides Update on Denali Lodge Renovations

Renovations are coming along as planned for Holland America’s Denali Lodge in Alaska, as the line has revealed it’s on track to be completed for the 2027 Cruisetour season. Multiple projects within the $70 million, multi-year investment are already completed.

This season, visitors staying at the lodge will already find renovated accommodations, expanded dining options, and refreshed public spaces. Completed projects include:

• An enhanced riverside interpretive trail with new scenic viewpoints
• Improved on-site wayfinding throughout the property
• Public space renovations and upgrades at both the Cottonwood and Canyon Lodge guest room buildings
• The introduction of Outpost Coffee + Provisions, a new coffee and convenience concept
• Expanded seating at Karstens Public House

Dining and Drinks

Travelers visiting Holland America Denali Lodge can now enjoy a variety of new dining and beverage offerings throughout the property. Menus have been revamped across multiple menus, with more of an emphasis on locally-inspired Alaska and Pacific Northwest cuisine featuring regional ingredients.

Outpost Coffee + Provisions offers items such as Smoked Salmon Bagel Sandwiches, Bison Chili, Reindeer Sausage with Beecher’s Cheddar, Smoked Salmon Dip, and a “Spritz Hour” serving three different Spritz cocktails.

Karstens Public House serves Alaska-inspired favorites including Alaskan Halibut Fish & Chips, Smoked Salmon and Spinach Omelet, Grilled Sockeye Salmon BLT, Fried Cod Fish Tacos, and Fresh Alaskan Salmon and Halibut.

Canyon Ridge Grill’s menu offers Dungeness Crab Cakes, Alder Smoked Salmon Chowder, Seared Weathervane Scallops, Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict, King Crab Legs, Fresh Alaskan Salmon, and Halibut.

Yet-to-Be-Completed Enhancements

Now, final enhancements are underway and scheduled for completion ahead of the 2027 season, which will coincide with Holland America’s 80th year in Alaska. These include:

• Construction of two new guest buildings replacing older structures, equating to new rooms and an increase in Lodge capacity by 72 rooms
• A refresh and redesign of the Main Lodge interiors and public spaces
• A full renovation of the Grizzly Grind coffee shop

2027 Cruisetours

In 2027, Holland America will offer a series of 19 Cruisetour options from May to September, ranging from nine to 17 nights. The itineraries will combine a three to seven-night Alaska cruise with an overland journey to Denali National Park and Canada’s Yukon Territory. Every Cruisetour visits the park and includes a one to three-night stay at Holland America Denali Lodge.

Travelers are able to decide the order of their journey — cruise or land tour first — and those who want to extend their travels can choose an itinerary that travels into the Yukon with Holland America still being the only cruise line to take guests into the heart of the Yukon.
