Norwegian Cruise Line Reveals First Images of New Water Park

The photos are in! Norwegian Cruise Line revealed the first images of its brand-new water park on Great Stirrup Cay, the company’s private island in the Bahamas. The water park’s official grand opening celebration is scheduled for September 4, 2026.

Water Features

Great Tides Waterpark spans nearly six acres, and features a variety of both thrills and spaces to relax. Highlights include:

The Wandering River “non-lazy” river with an immersive multi-media tunnel
The Caribbean’s only four-person body slide called The Great Slide
The family-friendly splash zone, Splash Cay
Tidal Tower, which features dueling Master Blaster slides which propel inner tubes uphill and through steep drops and twists
Cliffside Cove, home to the cruise industry’s first cliff jumps

Sips and Treats

Beyond the water attractions at Great Tides Waterpark will be a lineup of island-inspired flavors — from barbecue favorites to seafood and refreshing sweet treats.

Low Tide Smoke will serve slow-smoked barbecue dishes like St. Louis BBQ Pork Riblets, BBQ Pork Nachos, Chicken Wings, and Crispy Buffalo Cauliflower.
Catch of the Cay will offer premium cold-water seafood with menu items including Crispy Shrimp Rolls, Golden Fried Shrimp Baskets, and Chilled Seafood Rolls all paired with a side of seasoned waffle fries.
Tidal Treats will serve handcrafted desserts perfect for a warm-weather island day, including a Strawberry Red Velvet Sundae and an Ultimate Chocolate Brownie Sundae, each served in a bubble waffle bowl. Plus, guests can enjoy the Tropical Fish-Shaped Waffle Cone with vanilla soft serve, colorful sprinkles, and a choice of swirl flavors ranging from tropical orange to chocolate, caramel, bubble gum, and more.
Complimentary buffet-style options will also be available within the water park.

As for alcoholic beverages, there will be two bars found in Great Tides Waterpark. The Grotto Bar, located at Cliffside Cove beneath The Great Slide, will offer front-row views of visitors diving 10 to 15 feet into the water from the cliff jumps. The Floataway Bar, located in the heart of The Wandering River, allows guests to grab a beverage without ever leaving the water. The best part? Drinks are included on Great Stirrup Cay with the Free at Sea unlimited beverage package.

Elevated Experiences

For those seeking an elevated experience, Great Stirrup Cay has a variety of additional offerings throughout the island and at the water park.

Visitors can reserve private cabanas for up to six people within the water park, which are inclusive of water park admission. Or, those wanting a relaxing adults-only experience can purchase an all-day pass to the island’s new Vibe Shore Club, complete with premium loungers and a private bar. Private poolside and beachfront cabanas are also available on Great Stirrup Cay.
