Port Canaveral Begins Cruise Terminal Expansion Project

Construction has begun on another cruise terminal expansion project at Port Canaveral. The $95 million expansion and renovation of Cruise Terminal 10 should be completed by November 2027, adding the ability to accommodate some of the industry’s largest cruise ships.

Designed by Miami-based architectural firm Bermello Ajamil, the reimagined facility will have spacious, modern interiors; colorful artwork; and a glass façade to let in lots of natural light. Expanded security screening and luggage areas, new elevators/escalators, updated signage, and HVAC systems are also being added. The redesigned terminal will encompass over 145,000 total square feet — nearly 30 percent larger than the existing space.

Murray, Port Canaveral CEO. “Our cruise business investments are highly focused on ensuring that guest arrivals and departures are comfortable, efficient, and above all, support the high quality experience we provide for our cruise partners and their guests.”

The upgrades are part of the Port Canaveral Advantage, a nearly $1 billion capital improvement program that includes facilities upgrades, technology enhancements, and other features across all aspects of its operations.

Port Canaveral is home to seven leading cruise brands operating over 1,000 sailings from 18 homeported ships, including some of the newest and largest cruise ships in the world.

The terminal expansion is just one of several projects going on at Port Canaveral right now. The port is also expanding Cruise Terminal 5 — a project that is doubling that terminal’s size — as well as the construction of a 13-story parking garage at Cruise Terminal 6. These two project represent a nearly $175 million investment by the Canaveral Port Authority to meet continued demand for cruising from central Florida.
