Scenic Discovery Yachts Meet in Seville for First Time

Scenic’s two ultra-luxury discovery yachts came together in Seville, Spain, this month in what the cruise line described as a milestone moment for the brand’s Mediterranean program.

On May 9, 2026, Scenic Eclipse and Scenic Eclipse II met in Seville during separate voyages, marking the first time the two vessels have visited the historic Spanish city together. The ships are among the few ocean-going vessels capable of navigating the Guadalquivir River directly into the center of Seville, offering passengers a rare arrival experience in one of Spain’s most culturally rich destinations.

Passengers aboard both ships celebrated the occasion with onboard ceremonies that included speeches from the captains and a traditional exchange of gifts with Seville port officials and local dignitaries. The event also featured a Flamenco horse presentation that highlighted the region’s Andalusian traditions.

An Evening of Andalusian Culture

The celebration continued with an exclusive evening event at Casa de Pilatos, a historic palace known for its blend of Renaissance, Mudéjar, and Gothic architecture. Scenic said passengers experienced local cuisine, flamenco performances, and a live opera performance accompanied by piano during the event.

“This is a proud and symbolic moment,” Scenic Fleet Captain Erwan Le Rouzic said in a statement. “Seeing Scenic Eclipse and Scenic Eclipse II together in Seville is a wonderful celebration of our journey and it is especially meaningful to share it in a destination as beautiful and historic as Seville.”

Scenic Eclipse and Scenic Eclipse II operate all-inclusive voyages that combine expedition-style cruising with luxury accommodations, wellness facilities, and destination-focused experiences.

The company plans to expand its discovery yacht fleet again in 2028 with the debut of Scenic Ikon, which is currently under construction and scheduled to sail in the Mediterranean during its inaugural season.
