Silversea’s Mediterranean Grand Voyage Sets Sail Aboard Silver Spirit
Silversea‘s Mediterranean Grand Voyage set sail on September 24 from Lisbon aboard the Silver Spirit. The 55-day journey runs through November 18, and will cover 45 destinations across 12 countries. Passengers will visit marquee cities such as Venice, Dubrovnik, and Naples alongside hidden gems like Kotor and Trapani.

A Deeper Mediterranean Experience
The voyage begins with a 12-day exploration of the Iberian Peninsula, before continuing to Monaco, the Amalfi Coast, Croatia’s Adriatic jewels, and the Greek Isles. It concludes in Barcelona.
A key highlight of the sailing is that ports are not repeated. Passengers will visit each destination only once during the 55 days, with the sole exception of Piraeus (Athens). Overnight stays in cities like Istanbul, Naples, and Rome provide extended exploration.
Silver Spirit: Comfort Meets Elegance
Known for one of the highest space-to-guest ratios at sea, Silver Spirit combines spacious suites with sweeping views, most featuring private verandas. Passengers also enjoy eight dining venues and Silversea’s butler service for a personalized onboard experience.
Silversea‘s Silver Spirit entered service in 2009, built by Fincantieri in Ancona, Italy. Originally measuring about 195 meters, the ship underwent a major refit in 2018, when it was cut in half and lengthened with a new midsection. This “stretch” increased her size to approximately 211 meters (692 feet) and boosted capacity.
Today, Silver Spirit carries about 608 passengers in 270 all-oceanview suites, with a crew of around 411, resulting in a guest-to-crew ratio of roughly 1.5 to 1. The refurbishment also added dining options, expanded public areas, and modernized the onboard experience while preserving the ship’s elegant, boutique atmosphere.
