Windstar Opens Star Seeker Bookings For 2028-29 Asia Voyages

Windstar Cruises is experiencing a surge in Asia cruise bookings. In fact, as of this month, bookings for Star Seeker‘s 2027 Asia sailings have nearly doubled ahead of the same time last year. Driven by this strong demand, Windstar is now opening bookings for its 2028-2029 Asia season aboard the ship.

The new season will include voyages through Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, and Cambodia, combining overnight stays, extended Cruise Tours, and access to destinations that larger ships can’t reach. Star Seeker‘s small size (it’s only 431 feet long and holds a maximum of 224 guests!) allows it to access city-center docks and smaller regional ports. This creates a more seamless and destination-focused experience throughout Asia.

The 2028-2029 season features 25 departures between September 2028 and May 2029. Travelers can choose from four cruise-only voyages and customize their vacation with longer Star Collector sailings ranging from 20 to 42 days. Pre- and post-cruise Cruise Tours to Hanoi, Angkor Wat, Chiang Mai, and Kyoto are also available, creating up to 87 itinerary combinations throughout the season.

Star Seeker sails directly into the heart of cities like Ho Chi Minh City and Bangkok, unlike larger vessels that have to dock hours away in ports such as Phu My and Laem Chabang. Smaller destinations throughout the region that Star Seeker can also reach include Krabi and Ko Yao Noi. On Ko Kood, Windstar’s signature beach party features a barbecue on the sand and watersports directly from the beach.

Windstar Cruises is also known for its Destination Discovery Events, which are curated shoreside experiences exclusively for those traveling with the line. In Japan, Traditions of Tomonoura & the Inland Sea brings visitors into one of the country’s historic port towns through tea ceremonies, live koto music, Edo-period streets, and exclusive access to the historic Ota Family Residence.
