Princess Cruises Launches AI-Powered Cruise Planning App

Princess Cruises has announced it is the first cruise line to launch a native app in ChatGPT, bringing real-time cruise planning into the AI platform. The new app will put the line at the forefront of LLM-powered cruise discovery, while keeping potential passengers connected to Princess’ booking ecosystem.

“There is a broader shift in travel discovery as consumers increasingly use generative AI not simply to find information, but to help evaluate choices and plan increasingly complex trips,” said Neena Vicente, Princess Cruises Vice President of Digital Commerce and Experience. “This launch places Princess at the forefront of agentic commerce in the cruising industry, creating a new entry point into cruise discovery that inspires guests to find the vacation that is right for them.”

Through Princess’ native app, ChatGPT can now connect directly with information and services within the Princess Cruises website. By tagging @princesscruises and installing the app within ChatGPT, travelers can use everyday language to explore over 300 cruise destinations and 17 ships, check pricing and availability, and refine their plans — all within the same conversation.

Travelers can ask questions such as: “show me seven-night cruises that visit Santorini in August 2027” or “help me plan a cruise to Alaska next summer.” Within the same conversation, they can also find cruises by destination, date, and length; compare Princess itineraries and ships; explore ports and shore excursions; look at onboard experiences and packages; check current pricing and availability; and narrow options based on individual preferences.

The experience allows ChatGPT users to continue refining their plans naturally. Someone searching for a cruise to Alaska, for example, could follow up by asking which options visit Glacier Bay, which depart from Seattle, or how two itineraries differ — all within the same conversation.

Here’s how to add the Princess Cruises app in ChatGPT:

1. Login to your account OR create a free account.
2. Add Princess App Plugin to ChatGPT:
   1. On desktop, select Plugins from the left-hand sidebar.
   2. On the mobile app, tap the menu icon in the top-left corner, select the settings gear icon at the bottom of the sidebar, then click Browse Plugins.
3. Search Princess Cruises in the search box.
4. Click the + to add, install, and connect the Princess Cruises plugin.
5. Once connected, open a new chat.
6. Type a request and press Enter. For example: @princesscruises help me plan a cruise to Japan next spring.

While initially available only through ChatGPT, Princess intends to expand to additional compatible AI platforms in the future, subject to availability and technical requirements.
