Atlas Ocean Voyages Unveils 2026 Canadian Arctic Expedition

Canadian Arctic expedition cruise on Atlas Ocean Voyages

This journey is designed for serious adventurers. Along the way, travelers will encounter the untouched wilderness of the Canadian Arctic and Labrador. It’s a route packed with wildlife sightings, cultural exchanges, and raw natural beauty.

Zodiac Safaris and Wildlife Encounters

Guests will explore remote areas by Zodiac, including Disco Bay and the Button Islands. These locations are prime spots for seeing polar bears, walrus, and whales. Nachvak Fjord may offer black bear sightings, while migratory seabirds and seals are often seen during landings.

Cultural Immersion in Arctic Communities

The expedition also offers opportunities to meet local artisans in Sisimiut and Qikiqtarjuaq. Travelers will learn about the cultures of Greenlandic and Canadian Inuit communities. The route includes historical stops such as Red Bay’s Basque whaling station and the Moravian mission ruins in Hebron. Guests will also visit Saint-Pierre and Miquelon and explore Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Captain’s Choice Exploration

To keep things flexible, several days are left open for “Captain’s Choice” landings. These unplanned stops allow guests to experience unexpected highlights, depending on weather and sea conditions.

Veteran Expedition Leaders Return for 2025

As the 2025 Arctic season kicks off, two experienced Expedition Leaders return to guide the way:

  • Ekaterina “Katia” Uryupova — Originally from Siberia, Katia holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences. Her expertise includes marine biology, climate science, and polar advocacy.
