Celestyal Opens 2028 Mediterranean Season With 124 Sailings Across Two Ships

Celestyal has opened its 2028 summer Mediterranean season for booking, putting 124 sailings across Celestyal Journey and Celestyal Discovery on sale beginning September 4, 2027. The season runs March through November 2028 and affects travelers booking anywhere from three-night Greek Islands getaways to 14-night combined itineraries spanning Greece, Italy, Croatia, and Turkey.

The season brings back two established seven-night itineraries on Celestyal Journey, Heavenly Greece, Italy & Croatia and Idyllic Greece, alongside two length options on Celestyal Discovery’s Greek Islands routes. It also packages the two Journey itineraries into a single bookable 14-night Mediterranean Icons voyage, giving guests one reservation for the combined route instead of stitching together two separate seven-night bookings.

• Mediterranean Icons, 14 nights, 16 departures, from $1,769pp, combining both itineraries above

Celestyal Discovery (1,360 guests, round trip from Athens, March through November):

• Iconic Greek Islands, 3 nights, 35 departures, from $569pp, calling at Mykonos, Kusadasi, Patmos, Crete, and Santorini
• Iconic Greek Islands, 4 nights, 35 departures, from $729pp, adding Rhodes to the same route

Celestyal said all fares include meals, soft drinks, WiFi, port fees, and gratuities.

What the pricing means for travelers

Fares run from $569 for the shortest Discovery sailing to $1,769 for the longest combined Journey itinerary, and the per-night cost narrows as trip length increases. The three-night Discovery sailing works out to roughly $190 a night, the seven-night Journey itineraries to about $140 a night, and the 14-night Mediterranean Icons to about $126 a night. Guests weighing the two standalone seven-night Journey sailings against the bundled version pay roughly $189, or about 10 percent, less booking Mediterranean Icons than booking both seven-night cruises separately.

Where this fits in Celestyal’s broader Mediterranean push

The announcement follows Celestyal’s rollout of new winter Mediterranean sailings just weeks earlier, including Celestyal Discovery’s first dedicated Western Mediterranean season and a new winter 2027-28 run for Celestyal Journey between Athens and Istanbul. Those winter itineraries are currently on sale at a promotional rate starting at $549 per person for seven nights, roughly 44 percent below the $979 starting rate for the equivalent seven-night sailings in the newly announced summer 2028 season. Taken together, the two announcements point to a line building a year-round Mediterranean deployment across both ships rather than treating winter as a gap season.

Celestyal has not indicated whether the 2028 season adds any ports beyond its existing rotation; every port named in the announcement already appears in the line’s current Journey and Discovery deployments. Bookings open September 4, 2027, more than six months ahead of the first March 2028 departure.
