Crystal Locks In Financing for Two Next-Gen Luxury Cruise Ships
Crystal is officially moving full steam ahead with its ambitious fleet expansion. The ultra-luxury cruise line just finalized financing for its first two brand-new ships, a big step that cements its long-term growth plans and continues the brand’s comeback story.

Backed by a consortium of major international banks and supported by Italy’s SACE export credit agency, the funding package secures construction for a pair of state-of-the-art vessels set to debut in the coming years. Citibank, Banco Santander, CaixaBank, Credit Agricole, and several other European financial heavyweights are behind the deal.
“Securing this financing represents a decisive step forward in Crystal’s expansion and demonstrates the strong market confidence in our strategy,” said Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, Executive Chairman of A&K Travel Group, which owns Crystal.
Each new ship will measure 61,800 gross tons and carry about 650 guests in all-suite accommodations—every one with a private veranda. Expect luxury at every turn, from single occupancy options for solo cruisers to what Crystal promises will be one of the best crew-to-guest ratios in the business.
Construction is being handled by longtime partner Fincantieri, the renowned Italian shipbuilder that has worked with the Lefebvre family for more than 30 years. Delivery of the first ship is scheduled for May 2028.
The new vessels will reflect the brand’s updated vision, merging timeless elegance with modern innovation. While many of the finer onboard details are still under wraps, guests can likely anticipate the same high-end experiences that have become synonymous with Crystal: curated dining from global culinary icons, immersive wellness, and best-in-class service.
Cristina Levis, CEO of A&K Travel Group, credited the Italian financial institutions and SACE for their vital role in bringing this financing to life. “We extend our deep gratitude to the Italian Export Credit Agency SACE, under the leadership of CEO Alessandra Ricci and team leader Mariano Di Biagio, for their strategic partnership,” she said.
With this major milestone locked in, Crystal is doubling down on its mission to redefine luxury cruising for the next generation of travelers.
