Disney Believe: Disney Cruise Line’s Next Wish-Class Ship

Disney Cruise Line has announced the name of its next ship: the Disney Believe. CEO Josh D’Amaro made the reveal Tuesday at the Walt Disney Company’s annual shareholders meeting, his first day officially leading the company. The ship, themed around hope, dreams, and what it means to believe in yourself, is expected to debut in late 2027.

The Disney Believe is the fourth entry in the Wish class, a series of ships that each carry a distinct identity from bow to stern. The Disney Wish went with enchantment. The Treasure went with adventure. The Destiny is going with heroes and villains. The Believe takes on the characters who bet on themselves and won: Mirabel from “Encanto,” Elsa and Anna from “Frozen,” Snow White, Moana, and Ariel from “The Little Mermaid” are all part of the ship’s confirmed thematic lineup.

After over 50 sailings across multiple cruise lines, Disney has been on my list for years, and I think Disney Believe will be my first DCL experience.

Disney’s Fleet Is Growing Fast

The timing of the announcement matters. Disney Cruise Line is in the middle of its biggest expansion ever, with a goal of reaching 13 ships by 2031. The Disney Adventure just launched its first sailing from Singapore on March 10. The Disney Believe follows in late 2027. After that, Disney has plans for a new ship class entirely in 2029, plus a separate deal with Oriental Land Co. to bring Disney cruises to Japan that same year.

It’s a lot of ships in a short window, and the Disney Believe lands near the front of that wave.

What’s Confirmed So Far

Disney hasn’t released itineraries, home ports, or deck plans for the Disney Believe. Bookings aren’t open yet. What the company has confirmed is the thematic foundation: the ship will bring the worlds of “Encanto,” “Frozen,” “Moana,” “The Little Mermaid,” and “Snow White” to life across its entertainment, venues, and design.

That’s the Wish-class model. Each ship carries its theme into every corner of the guest experience, not just the main stage show or a single restaurant, but the overall feel of the vessel. The Disney Wish, which launched in 2022, set the template with a “Little Mermaid” fine dining experience, the AquaMouse water attraction, and a production show pulling from the full Disney catalog. The Disney Believe will follow that approach with its own original programming.
