This Week in New Cruise Itineraries
There’s been some buzz in the cruise world this past week, with major lines announcing new cruise itineraries for 2026 through 2028. For 2026, The World will chart across six continents, Silversea expands its Arctic program, and Princess Cruises adds fresh ports to Sun Princess’ Mediterranean sailings. Carnival Cruise Line also revealed its first Hawaii program for 2027, and Oceania Cruises rolled out its 2027–2028 collection with more than 230 itineraries.
Oceania Maps Grand Voyages and a Farewell

Two highlights in Oceania‘s new 2027–2028 program is a 59-day South Pacific trip from Miami to Sydney and a 96-day sailing from Auckland to Rome, both on Oceania Vista. Oceania Allura will debut the line’s first winter Mediterranean season, while Oceania Riviera heads back to Alaska. It’s also the farewell season for Oceania Insignia, which will be transferred to Crescent Seas in late 2027.
The World Maps 2026 Course

The World, the first and still-only residential cruise ship, will plot her course to six continents and 90 destinations in 2026. Planned cruises feature a scenic cruise-by of Antarctica, plus calls at Easter Island, Pitcairn, and French Polynesia. The company says that residents helped design the routes, which will include long port stays with expert-led cultural and science programs.
Carnival Plans First Hawaii Season

Carnival is heading to Hawaii for the first time in October 2027. Carnival Legend will sail ten 14-day cruises from Long Beach. Carnival Freedom will shift to Norfolk in May 2027 for trips to the Bahamas, Bermuda, Caribbean, and Canada & New England. Carnival Pride will keep sailing year-round from Baltimore. Together, Pride and Freedom create twin mid-Atlantic programs. Pride, a Spirit-class ship, is smaller and established, while Freedom, a larger Conquest-class vessel, grows Carnival’s Norfolk base.
Princess Adds Ports in the Med

Princess Cruises is adding port calls for Sun Princess’ Mediterranean itineraries in 2026 and 2027. New stops include Ajaccio, Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca, and Santa Margherita. Some sailings also feature overnights in La Spezia, perfect for extra time in Florence and Pisa. Gibraltar has been dropped to make room for the changes. Sun Princess is the first of the Sphere class for the line and launched in 2024.
Silversea Expands Arctic Voyages

For 2026, Silversea’s Arctic program will be operated by Silver Endeavour and Silver Wind. Silver Endeavour is a modern ice-class expedition ship, designed for the most remote, ice-heavy routes. Silver Wind, a classic vessel converted for expeditions, offers a more spacious, traditional cruise feel for less extreme Arctic routes. The 2026 season will include itineraries through Svalbard, Greenland, Arctic Canada, and embarkation points like Longyearbyen, Reykjavik, and Tromsø.
