Silversea Spirit Drydock Renovation to Make 6th Ship to Feature S.A.L.T.
Silversea announced that Silver Spirit will undergo a drydock renovation beginning March 22, 2026, at Fincantieri’s Palermo shipyard in Italy. The refurbishment runs through May 8 and will introduce the line’s S.A.L.T. (Sea And Land Taste) program, refreshed public spaces, and expanded suite options. Upon completion, Spirit will become the sixth ship in the fleet to feature S.A.L.T.

Launched in 2009 and lengthened in 2018, Spirit predates the line’s newest generation of ships. The renovation brings her closer in line with Silversea’s modern culinary and design standards while preserving the intimate, all-suite atmosphere that defines the vessel.
Culinary Upgrade in Spirit
The defining element of the renovation is the introduction of three S.A.L.T. experiences, first launched in 2020 aboard Silver Moon. S.A.L.T. Kitchen will feature menus built around regional ingredients and traditional techniques, while S.A.L.T. Bar highlights local wines, spirits, and cocktails inspired by the ports visited. S.A.L.T. Lab adds a hands-on component through small-group cooking sessions and guided tastings.
The program is curated by Adam Sachs, former editor-in-chief of Saveur and a three-time James Beard Journalism Award winner. S.A.L.T. has also included collaborations with acclaimed Italian pizzaiolo Franco Pepe for curated experiences tied to Italian itineraries.
Elevated Spaces and Suites

Beyond dining, the renovation includes updates to several public areas. The Venetian Lounge will receive refreshed furnishings and a new LED wall designed to enhance entertainment and enrichment programming. The pool deck will be revitalized with updated design elements, and the Zagara Beauty Spa will see light enhancements. The fitness center has also been upgraded with an AI-powered strength training system that integrates with a mobile app.

As part of the renovation, Silver Spirit will add Medallion Suites. The category offers expanded living areas, private verandas, and upgraded bathrooms featuring double vanities, bathtubs, and walk-in showers.
Spirit’s Next Chapter
After completing the renovation, Silver Spirit will operate a series of Northern Europe voyages, including sailings between Southampton, Amsterdam, and Copenhagen with calls in Norway’s southern fjords and Scotland’s islands. Later in the season, she will embark on a 50-day Grand Mediterranean Voyage from Lisbon.
The renovation brings one of Silversea’s earlier-generation vessels into closer alignment with the brand’s current culinary and design direction. S.A.L.T. is already featured aboard Silver Moon, Silver Dawn, Silver Muse, Silver Nova, and Silver Ray, while refreshed entertainment venues and Medallion Suite accommodations are standard across much of the fleet.
