Norwegian Cruise Line Opens Bookings For 2028 Summer Season

Bookings are now open for Norwegian Cruise Line‘s 2028 summer season. The schedule includes over 450 voyages ranging in length from three to 14 days, departing from 25 homeports around the world.

Ships are scheduled to call at nearly 150 destinations across 51 countries, and NCL says that ships will “spend approximately 80% of each sailing in port, with an average call exceeding 10 hours.” The season also features 175 overnight stays and late departures in 53 destinations, including Santorini, Livorno, and Juneau.

2028 Summer Season Highlights

In 2028, Norwegian Aqua will spend her first full summer season offering three and four-night Bahamas cruises from Miami, which include calls to NCL’s private island Great Stirrup Cay. Norwegian Aura, one of the line’s newest vessels, will operate seven-night eastern Caribbean voyages out of Miami to Puerto Plata, St. Thomas, Tortola, and Great Stirrup Cay.

Over in the western Caribbean, Norwegian Prima will return to Galveston, Texas, offering seven-night roundtrip cruises that include calls to NCL’s private resort-style destination in Belize, Harvest Caye. Norwegian Escape will operate alternating eastern and western Caribbean voyages roundtrip from Port Canaveral, which include calls to Great Stirrup Cay.

Across the pond, Norwegian Jewel will embark on one of her most diverse European seasons to date. During a 12-night Canary Islands voyage roundtrip from Barcelona, the ship will make her first-ever calls in Morocco — to Casablanca and Agadir. The voyage will also include calls to Arrecife (Lanzarote) and Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain for the first time. In the Baltics, the ship will operate seven to 10-night sailings between Southampton, Copenhagen, and Helsinki.

Norwegian Viva will operate port-intensive Mediterranean sailings in 2028, with nine, 10, and 12-night sailings between Civitavecchia (the port for Rome), Ravenna (the port for Venice), Barcelona, and Istanbul. The ship will spend overnights in Istanbul and offer late departures in Santorini and Mykonos, Greece as well as in Livorno, Italy.

Norwegian Cruise Line’s Alaska program will take place from April to October 2028, with four ships — Norwegian Encore, Bliss, Joy, and Jade — sailing in the region. The first three ships will offer seven-night voyages roundtrip from Seattle, with Norwegian Joy also operating longer nine to 11-night itineraries. Norwegian Jade will operate seven-night one-way cruises between Vancouver and Whittier, featuring scenic cruising through either Glacier Bay or to Hubbard Glacier.

For the fifth season in a row, NCL will sail from Philadelphia, with the regional debut of Norwegian Gem in April 2028. The vessel will operate seven-night Bermuda cruises featuring a visit to Norfolk, Virginia as well overnight calls to Bermuda’s Royal Naval Dockyard.
