Holland America Expanding Live Music on Two Cruise Ships
As part of its Evolution renovation program, Holland America is introducing new bandstands at the Lido Pool on Oosterdam and Zuiderdam. The new additions will create dedicated venues for live music and entertainment on one of the ship’s most popular gathering spaces. The first bandstand will debut on Oosterdam following its Evolution transformation in fall 2027.
In addition to acting as a hub for live music on the busy lido deck, the bandstand will also act as a central hub for special events and celebrations. Programming on the pool deck will include a variety of musical acts, from solo performers to energetic live bands, along with events connected to Holland America’s signature Orange Party and other guest-favorite traditions.

The Lido Pool’s retractable glass roof allows passengers to enjoy the space throughout the cruise, whether it’s raining or sunny, hot or cold.
“Evolution is about bringing the very best of Holland America Line to more of our fleet,” said Beth Bodensteiner, president of Holland America Line. “Over the past several years, we’ve been on a journey to expand and elevate our entertainment offerings across the fleet, guided by what our guests tell us they love most. The new Lido Pool bandstands are another step in that effort, creating more opportunities to enjoy live music and memorable performances in one of the ship’s most popular gathering spaces.”

Holland America Evolution is the largest fleet update in the company’s 153-year history. It includes the revitalization of six Vista and Signature-class ships with a blend of Pinnacle-class inspired experiences, new offerings, and passenger favorites. The company is investing over $500 million across the ships to enhance guest spaces, introduce new venues, and add additional staterooms that provide more choice for travelers. Oosterdam and Zuiderdam are the first two ships in the program.
In addition to the new poolside bandstands, guests sailing aboard these two ships following their renovations will enjoy other enhancements including the introduction of the popular Grand Dutch Café as well as new staterooms and suites.
