Norwegian Cruise Line Details Its Final Prima Class Ship

Norwegian Cruise Line has announced the name of the final ship in its Prima Plus class: Norwegian Bella. The vessel, set to debut in May 2028, will operate seven-night Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona, Spain.

Norwegian Bella will come in at 1,129 feet long and 170,000 gross tons, matching Norwegian Aura as the largest ships in the NCL fleet. It is currently being built by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri.

Highlights of the ship include:

Ocean Heights

Ocean Heights, a four-deck open-air complex, will serve as a playground by day and a vibrant social hub by night. Amenities found in this area will include the Bella Free Fall waterslide, The Wave pendulum-style raft slide, The Drop 10-deck dry slide, a ropes course, the Bella Midway with carnival-style games, a mini golf course, and a multi-level harness-free adventure course called Moon Climber.

Ocean Boulevard

Wrapping the entire ship on deck eight, Ocean Boulevard is the ship’s outdoor promenade. Now with additional seating compared to Norwegian Aqua and Luna, Ocean Boulevard features hot tubs and an outdoor bar, as well as Infinity Beach — a space that includes infinity pools and daybeds.

Dedicated spaces for kids and teens include:

  • Little Explorers’ Cay (ages 2-6) complete with a playhouse and slides
  • Adventure Alley (ages 6-10), an immersive playground filled with crawl spaces, winding tunnels, and ocean-inspired adventures
  • Surf’s Bay (teens), a modern hangout space complete with a surf wall photo perfect for taking selfies

Pools, Adults-Only Escapes, & a Water Park

Norwegian Bella‘s expansive pool deck features lots of space and seating, an infinity hot tub, and a large LED entertainment screen.

The top deck includes a kids’ aqua park, complete with a reimagined splash pad design and interactive water features. Nearby are two family-friendly waterslides: The Party Slide, a wide and shallow slide perfect for little kids, and Infinity Loop, a figure-eight slide.

More fun in the sun can be had at Horizon Park on deck 19, which features lots of lounge furniture and outdoor lawn games.

Adults seeking an elevated escape can relax at Vibe Beach Club, which has its own infinity hot tubs, a central oceanfront bar, plush loungers, and luxurious daybeds.

Staterooms & The Haven

Norwegian Bella will have nearly 2,000 staterooms, ranging from interior cabins and studios to spacious balcony accommodations.

The ship will also include 159 suites within The Haven, NCL’s exclusive, keycard-access complex. The Haven will be located at the ship’s aft, featuring its own private elevators, a sundeck with an infinity pool, two hot tubs, an outdoor sauna and cold room, and separate family-friendly and adults-only areas.

Haven guests will also have access to their own restaurant and bar with its own menu, plus a lounge.

Hull Art

Continuing NCL’s tradition of building ships with vibrant, eye-catching hull artwork, Bella will include an original design by acclaimed Australian contemporary artist George Rose.

Known for her bold murals and vibrant botanical compositions, Rose creates immersive works that blend fine art and design through vivid color, fluid gradients, and graphic natural forms.

With a career spanning more than 15 years, Rose has worked across cultural, public and commercial contexts internationally including work with STRAAT Museum Amsterdam, the Australian Embassy in Indonesia, Colab Gallery Germany, and brands such as Instagram, Nike, and TikTok.
