Brilliant Lady Arrives in New York, Completing Virgin Voyages’ Fleet
Virgin Voyages has welcomed its newest ship, Brilliant Lady, to New York Harbor, completing the cruise line’s four-ship fleet. The arrival on September 2, 2025, was celebrated with music, community, and a nod to the brand’s journey since its launch.

Sailing past the Statue of Liberty, Brilliant Lady made her U.S. debut with a performance that highlighted Virgin’s focus on connection. According to Virgin, crew members and passengers joined Astrid Jorgensen of Pub Choir to sing Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now. The 2,400-person choir transformed the harbor into a stage, underscoring Virgin Voyages’ commitment to creating experiences that bring people together.
Brilliant Lady will begin service on September 5 with a four-night ‘MerMaiden Voyage’ to Bermuda. She will then offer itineraries to the Northeast and Eastern Canada through October, giving travelers a chance to experience fall foliage along the coast. These sailings balance Virgin’s mix of tropical escapes and seasonal travel experiences.
Virgin Voyages’ Fleet Complete
Founder Sir Richard Branson called the fleet’s completion a defining moment. “Today, we completed our fleet and celebrated a moment that will leave a legacy far beyond our ships,” he said.

With Brilliant Lady, Virgin now operates four ships: Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady, Resilient Lady, and Brilliant Lady. Each ship combines contemporary design with the amenities of a large cruise line. Highlights include modern cabins, diverse dining from Michelin-star chefs, a spa and thermal suite, fitness classes, and entertainment ranging from festivals to smaller shows. Virgin promotes its adults-only concept as a fresh alternative to traditional cruising.
Charting a New Course
New York was a fitting stage for the debut. Four years ago, Scarlet Lady sailed into the same harbor as Virgin launched its first ship. That moment introduced the brand’s vision of a different kind of cruise.
With Brilliant Lady’s arrival, Virgin closes one chapter and begins another: one that focus on proving staying power in a highly competitive market.
