Holland America Ship to Undergo Renovation Sooner Than Planned

Oosterdam is scheduled for her facelift sooner than originally planned! Holland America has revealed the ship’s Evolution renovation will now occur five weeks earlier than previously scheduled, returning to service post-dry dock on October 31, 2027.

The revised schedule means that several previously-published voyages from September 11, 2027 to December 9, 2027 have been canceled. Affected travelers and their travel agents are being contacted directly about their rebooking options. Now, Holland America has added five additional sailings on the back end, spanning the Mediterranean, Atlantic, and Caribbean.

Following her dry dock in Marseille, France, Oosterdam will set sail on a 10-night cruise from Civitavecchia (Rome) to Trieste, departing October 31. Guests aboard that sailing will be among the first to experience the reimagined vessel while visiting destinations in Italy, Greece, Montenegro, and Croatia.

The four additional new cruises include an 11-night voyage from Trieste to Piraeus (Athens), a seven-night Mediterranean cruise from Piraeus to Barcelona, a 13-night transatlantic crossing from Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale, and an 11-night Caribbean sailing roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale.

Those booked on what were previously the inaugural cruise and first transatlantic cruise in December 2027 will have the opportunity to move to the corresponding new cruises and remain among the first guests aboard the post-Evolution Oosterdam. The new voyages will be open for sale in early October.
