Virgin Voyages Announces Its First-Ever Northern Europe Season

Virgin Voyages is heading to northern Europe! The line announced today that its ship Valiant Lady will begin sailing in Scandinavia and the Baltics in summer 2028.

The vessel will offer six sailings in the region — four that stay in northern Europe roundtrip from Amsterdam and two that sail between Barcelona and Amsterdam. They’ll run from July 9, 2028 through September 4, 2028 and include maiden calls in 15 ports.

Scandinavia & Stockholm Overnight

This 12-night voyage, departing July 19, will visit six ports across five countries — including one overnight stay: Oslo, Copenhagen (late-night stay), Gdynia (for Gdańsk), Stockholm (overnight), Warnemünde (for Berlin), and Aarhus.

Norwegian Fjords

This seven-night sailing will depart July 31 and visit four destinations across Norway: Molde, Nordfjordeid, Flåm, and Bergen.

Scandinavia & Hamburg

This seven-night voyage, departing on August 7, will feature three port calls with two late-night stays: Oslo, Copenhagen (late-night stay), and Hamburg — which the ship will stay in until nearly midnight, allowing passengers to experience the nightlife of the city.

Arctic Circle & Norwegian Fjords

This 11-night voyage departing August 14 is what Virgin Voyages is calling its “marquee sailing of the season.” It will include a visit to Bergen, followed by a crossing of the Arctic Circle complete with a crossing ceremony, plus a midnight sun deck party under 24-hour daylight. Tromsø, Trondheim, Andalsnes, and Olden are also on the schedule, providing a great peek at a number of stunning coastal destinations and tucked-away fjord towns.

Western Europe Crossings

These two bookend sailings will be 10 nights each, sailing between Barcelona and Amsterdam. On July 9, the ship will sail from Barcelona to Amsterdam, visiting Casablanca, Lisbon, La Coruña, and Cherbourg. The opposite direction, Amsterdam to Barcelona, will do almost the exact itinerary but in reverse, just swapping Casablanca for Tangier.

Bookings for all six voyages will open to the public on August 14, 2026.
