Crystal Serenity to Add Owner's Suite and Four Junior Penthouse Suites After 2028 Dry Dock

Crystal has announced five new suites for Crystal Serenity, including a 1,722-square-foot Owner’s Suite and four Junior Penthouse Premium Suites, set to debut on Deck 11 following the ship’s 2028 dry dock. The accommodations will be available for sailings beginning May 5, 2028, the line said October 5.

The announcement is aimed at luxury travelers booking Serenity’s 2028 season and beyond. It marks the first Owner’s Suite aboard Serenity, modeled on the suite that debuted aboard the line’s new ship Crystal Grace in her inaugural season. The four new Junior Penthouses will bring Serenity’s total in that category to 10 when combined with the six existing Junior Penthouse Deluxe Suites.

Inside the Crystal Owner’s Suite

The two-bedroom Owner’s Suite will sit midship on Deck 11 with 1,722 square feet of interior space and a 428-square-foot veranda. Naval architect Paolo Piccione is leading the design, with wooden floors, custom wool carpets, handcrafted cabinetry, and fine fabrics forming the residential-style interiors.

The living room will include a library and fireplace, while the dining area offers panoramic ocean views with a butler pantry and personalized bar service. A Hi-Fi entertainment system with dual touch panels will allow multi-zone music across interior and exterior spaces. The master bedroom gets a king-size bed and two walk-in closets, and the master bathroom will be fully lined in marble with a Jacuzzi.

A second bedroom with its own walk-in closet and separate bathroom is designed for guests traveling with family. The suite will also include Technogym fitness equipment with personalized Coach programming, positioned to face the ocean.

Four Junior Penthouse Premium Suites

Each of the four new suites will offer 861 square feet of interior space and a 205-square-foot veranda, located midship on Deck 11. Crystal said the layouts take inspiration from those aboard Crystal Symphony. The new suites complement the ship’s six existing Junior Penthouse Deluxe Suites.

How the new suites compare

The numbers line up neatly. At 1,722 square feet, the Owner’s Suite interior is exactly double the 861 square feet of each Junior Penthouse Premium. The verandas scale in the same proportion: outdoor space runs roughly a quarter of interior square footage in both categories. The Owner’s Suite stands apart as the only one of the five with a second bedroom, a fireplace, a butler pantry, and dedicated fitness equipment.

What travelers should know

The suites will be bookable for sailings from May 5, 2028, roughly 19 months after the announcement, giving planners a long runway to factor them into 2028 bookings. Crystal has not released pricing. Renderings and imagery have not been issued yet; the line said they are coming soon.

Two dry docks, two projects

Travelers following Serenity’s refit calendar should keep the two yard periods straight. The ship enters a three-week dry dock in October 2026 for a new pool bar, a reimagined atrium, and suite refreshes on Deck 10. The five new Deck 11 suites arrive later, as part of the separate 2028 dry dock.

The bigger picture

The move carries a proven concept from Crystal’s newbuild program back into the classic fleet. The Owner’s Suite follows the version aboard Crystal Grace, the first of three new ships planned under A&K Travel Group ownership for 2028, 2031, and 2034.

“We are continuing to thoughtfully evolve Crystal Serenity while preserving the character and sense of ease that have made her so beloved by our guests,” said Bernie Leypold, senior vice president of hotel operations for Crystal. “These new suites allow us to introduce fresh design elements and greater choice while creating an accommodation collection that feels cohesive, contemporary and distinctly Crystal.”
