Crystal Symphony’s Umi Uma Delivers Exceptional Dining

Crystal Cruises‘ Umi Uma is not just a meal, it’s a journey. As someone who’s experienced the elegant charm of Crystal Symphony firsthand, I can confidently say dining at Umi Uma was one of the standout highlights of my voyage.

Umi Uma‘s Ambiance & Atmosphere

From the moment you step into Umi Uma, you are greeted by an ambiance that elegantly blends contemporary style with subtle Japanese aesthetics. Dark wood finishes, sophisticated lighting, and deep ruby accents make for a dining atmosphere that feels both inviting and luxurious.

Signature Dishes & Menu Highlights

Created in collaboration with the renowned chef Nobu Matsuhisa, the menu at Umi Uma is an inspired fusion of Japanese and Peruvian flavors. My personal favorite—and seemingly everyone else’s too—was the Nobu-style Black Cod marinated in Saikyo miso. Its buttery texture and subtle sweetness perfectly represent the restaurant’s culinary excellence. The Yellowtail Jalapeño, Lobster with Truffle-Yuzu Sauce, and the incredible Wagyu Beef Filet also remain vivid in my memory.

Sushi Bar Experience

Seating at the sushi bar provided an interactive experience, with skilled chefs preparing delicate sashimi and innovative sushi rolls right before our eyes. Watching the preparation of fresh toro or abalone was a delightful addition.

Exceptional Service at Umi Uma

Service at Umi Uma was equally outstanding. Attentive staff anticipated every need, and their recommendations were consistently spot-on.

Crystal includes at least one complimentary dinner reservation at Umi Uma during most voyages, and I highly recommend taking full advantage of this perk. Additional evenings are possible for a charge.

I think it is absolutely worth it, given the extraordinary culinary experience.

Final Thoughts on Dining at Umi Uma

Dining at Umi Uma aboard Crystal Symphony wasn’t just one of the best meals I’ve had at sea; it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve enjoyed anywhere. If you’re sailing with Crystal soon, make Umi Uma a priority.
